Medical Coder: E/M
Professional Coder E/M
This is a full-time, remote position that offers a flexible schedule. We are currently looking for candidates with experience specializing in the following area:
E&M for IP/OP/ER services.
Responsibilities:
ā¢ Review and accurately code cases to maximize reimbursement in a timely manner.
ā¢ Review and accurately code E&M and office procedures.
ā¢ Able to work independently and research coding scenarios.
ā¢ Coder is responsible for meeting our daily production goal and our quality goal of
averaging 95% accuracy rate on a consistent basis.
ā¢ Attend conference calls as necessary to provide information and/or feedback.
ā¢ Communicate with leadership on coding or documentation issues/trends.
ā¢ Stay current on all coding guidelines (to include orthopedic-specific guidelines) and
maintain credentials as necessary.
ā¢ Participate in coding department and education meetings.
ā¢ Flexible to expand coding skill set into other specialties altogether.
ā¢ Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
ā¢ Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Education/Experience Requirements:
ā¢ High School diploma required. Associates or BS degree preferred.
ā¢ Successful completion of at least one AHIMA or AAPC certified program with the
achievement of the correlating professional credential (CCS, CPC, etc.); active and in good standing. A CPC certification is preferred.
ā¢ Minimum of 3 years physician coding experience (recent hands-on production) in Expertise in E&M coding for in-patient, out- patient and emergency room.
ā¢ Must have proficient knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology,
CPT, ICD-10 coding, modifiers, disease processes, surgical techniques, and Medicare and Medicaid billing policies for professional services.
ā¢ Additional skills required: Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, and electronic healthcare record information and billing systems
