Medical Assistant (REMOTE)
Location: Fully Remote, Louisiana Schedule: Flexible β Design Your Own Work Hours Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team in supporting remote care management programs initiatives. This fully remote role is ideal for a compassionate professional who excels in patient engagement, chronic disease education, and data-driven care coordination. The successful candidate will Key Responsibilities 1. Patient Communication & Enrollment β’ Contact patients to explain the benefits of PharmD Live programs and facilitate enrollment. β’ Collect, verify, and submit all necessary information for program enrollment while maintaining a thorough understanding of eligibility and documentation requirements. β’ Follow up with patients regularly to track enrollment progress and document updates accurately in the system. 2. Insurance Verification & Prior Authorizations β’ Perform insurance eligibility verifications and obtain prior authorizations for services or medications as required. β’ Ensure timely and accurate submission of authorizations and maintain records of all communications. 3. Scheduling & Coordination β’ Schedule patient appointments in alignment with clinician availability and program priorities. β’ Handle inbound patient inquiries, voicemails, and emails promptly and professionally. β’ Serve as a liaison between patients, clinicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure smooth coordination of care and continuity of services. β’ Contact physician offices or other healthcare facilities as needed to support patient care. 4. Care Coordination β’ Facilitate effective communication among patients, caregivers, clinicians, and healthcare partners to support seamless care transitions. β’ Track referrals, test results, and follow-up actions to prevent care gaps and ensure patient safety. 5. Documentation & Compliance β’ Accurately document all patient interactions, authorizations, and care activities in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. β’ Ensure full compliance with CMS guidelines for Chronic Care Management (CCM) and Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) programs. β’ Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA compliance at all times. 6. Program Development & Quality Support β’ Assist in the continuous improvement of CCM and RPM programs by providing feedback on workflow efficiency and patient satisfaction. β’ Participate in program evaluations and quality assurance initiatives to enhance care delivery. β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve service processes and operational efficiency. 7. Administrative Support β’ Manage work queues to ensure timely submission, follow-up, and resolution of all assigned tasks. β’ Maintain contact lists, respond to internal and external communications, and act as a point of contact for inquiries. β’ Demonstrate strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and follow-through on all assigned responsibilities. β’ Perform other duties as assigned to support team operations and patient care goals. Qualifications Education & Certification β’ Certified Medical Assistant (MA) β Active MA Required β’ Additional certifications in chronic disease management, case management, or patient education preferred. Experience β’ Minimum 3 years in working in a doctorβs office performing patient care, care coordination, or chronic disease management duties. β’ Experience with AWV, CCM or RPM programs strongly preferred. Technical Skills β’ Proficient in EHR systems and digital documentation. β’ Familiarity with RPM platforms and monitoring devices is a plus. Soft Skills β’ Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to support patient education and teamwork. β’ Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with strong multitasking skills. Work Environment β’ Must have a secure, HIPAA-compliant workspace suitable for telephonic and virtual care interactions. β’ Reliable internet connection required for remote work.
