About the position

The Managing Director of AL/GL Field Claims at AIG is responsible for leading a team of Casualty Adjusters and Complex Directors in the investigation, evaluation, and negotiation of moderate to high severity Auto and General Liability claims. This role emphasizes maintaining high standards of customer service while ensuring effective claims management and technical excellence within the team. The position involves coaching, training, and conducting audits to enhance claims practices and outcomes.

Responsibilities
• Oversee a team responsible for investigating, evaluating, and negotiating Auto and General Liability claims nationwide.

• Ensure adjusting staff analyze coverage and resolve claims within granted authority for cost-effective outcomes.
,
• Provide ongoing coaching and counseling to direct reports to achieve technical excellence.
,
• Conduct periodic claim file audits of field claims practices and results.
,
• Train and develop staff while maintaining team metrics and communication with underwriters, insureds, brokers, and senior claim management.

Requirements
• 7+ years of General and Auto Liability claim experience.

• Prior claims management experience preferred.
,
• In-depth knowledge of claim handling procedures, performance strategies, and best practices.
,
• Ability to evaluate complex coverage scenarios and resolve moderate to high severity injury claims.
,
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
,
• Effective decision-making skills to recognize, analyze, and improve claims performance against standards and goals.
,
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience handling self-insured retentions and surplus lines coverages.

• Ability to obtain multi-state adjuster licenses within 6 months of hire.
