Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Db2 System Programmer to support our global IBM Db2 for z/OS environment. The ideal candidate will also act as an SME supporting Ford's mainframe application modernization efforts to integrate and migrate mainframe Db2 data with the cloud.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Install, support, customize, test, implement and document z/OS Db2 system software and related program products.
ā¢ Ensure the high availability, performance tuning, and stability of DB2 subsystems.
ā¢ Provide guidance to support the development of Db2 data ingestion patterns between mainframe and cloud which include guidance on tooling capabilities/limitations, direct engagement on proof of concepts with application and infrastructure teams.
ā¢ Work directly with Mainframe DB2 System Programmers, Cloud DBAs, Mainframe DBAs, Enterprise Architects and Application teams to provide guidance, development and alignment on standards and issue resolution as applications execute their modernization strategies.
ā¢ Perform problem analysis and root cause determination for Db2 and tools issues.
ā¢ Develop, test, document and implement system modifications and support procedures.
ā¢ Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours and weekend support.
ā¢ Participate in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and testing.
ā¢ Ensure adherence to audit and security requirements.
ā¢ Create and respond to change, request, incident and problem tickets in ServiceNow.
Qualifications
ā¢ High School Graduate or equivalent
ā¢ 5+ years of experience as a Db2 System Programmer in a z/OS mainframe environment.
ā¢ 5+ years of experience with mainframe infrastructure and large application modernization initiatives involving Db2 to cloud integration, Db2 to PostgreSQL migration, and z/OS Connect APIs.
ā¢ SMP/E installation and software maintenance experience.
ā¢ Working knowledge of REXX, CLIST, ISPF/TSO programming, CA7, SQL, QMF, JCL, z/OS Operating System, z/OS Storage Management, JES2, JES3, TCP/IP.
ā¢ Experience with Db2 WLM and Native Stored Procedures, UDFs, Java and XML.
ā¢ Experience with Db2 performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
ā¢ Working knowledge of Omegamon for Db2, RACF, Db2 Data Sharing, Query Monitor, Optim TDM, BMC Db2 Tools, IBM Db2 Tools, IZPCA, zMQ, Qlik Replicate, Striim, IIDR, Informatica PowerExchange, FOCUS, WebFOCUS.
ā¢ Working knowledge of mainframe Assembler coding is preferred.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $96,720-162,120.
