About the position
The Machinist position at Howmet Aerospace is focused on producing precision parts through the setup and operation of various machines and equipment. Responsibilities
ā¢ Plan and verify materials and methods for each job as directed by documentation or supervision.

ā¢ Fit and assemble parts into complete assemblies according to customer specifications by interpreting blueprints and drawings.

ā¢ Set up machines and equipment, ensuring appropriate feeds, speeds, stops, clamps, fixtures, and tooling are selected.

ā¢ Operate machines and equipment to produce precision parts, performing machining operations approximately 85% of the time.
,
ā¢ Use a variety of hand tools for secondary operations on assemblies.
,
ā¢ Inspect completed parts and assemblies according to specifications, addressing non-conformities as needed.

ā¢ Complete required documentation for all jobs, including data entry into the ERP system.
,
ā¢ Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles.

ā¢ Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
ā¢ A related machine trades certificate/diploma and two years relevant experience, OR six years relevant experience.

ā¢ Experience with milling, turning, or grinding.
,
ā¢ Experience setting up and operating machine tools.
,
ā¢ Intermediate ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and specifications.
,
ā¢ Proficient in the use of machinist hand tools and measuring tools, process planning, and inspection.

ā¢ Machine shop math skills.
,
ā¢ Effective written and verbal communication skills.
,
ā¢ Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

ā¢ Legally authorized to work in the United States.
