Job Description:
Assist in the preparation and review of legal documents applicable to positions area of specialty for approval and use by the Law Department across the Company and affiliates.
Assist in the research and analysis of legal sources and documents to provide legal support services to attorneys, internal clients and outside counsel with minimal supervision.
Communicate complex information, both written and oral, to Colleagues at all levels of the Company and affiliates.
Additional administrative duties as required to support needs of the department
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree preferred -OR- requires Paralegal certification by an American Bar Association accredited program and minimum of five years experience as an insurance, transactional, litigation and/or employee benefits specialist legal assistant/paralegal.
5-7 years experience to include a minimum of three years experience as legal assistant/paralegal in legal specialty applicable to the position (litigation, transactions, employee benefits, general corporate) as well as project management.
Proficiency with PC Windows-based software, including Word, Excel, Access and other Microsoft Office applications.
Strong analysis and interpretation skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including outstanding interpersonal and consultative skills.
Demonstrates independence in administration and excels in analyzing and adjusting organization procedures for maximum efficiency.
Proficiency with computerized legal research programs and references; willingness to explore new technology (including automation) for increased efficiencies.
