Legal Analyst

Discord is a platform used by over 200 million people every month, primarily for gaming. They are seeking a Legal Analyst to support their Commercial & Marketing and IP teams, managing key projects and improving legal processes with innovative solutions.ResponsibilitiesRespond to or escalate requests from internal partners in product, business, and marketing who need Legal supportTrain clients on the contracting process and tools, and ensure that the correct process and approvals are in place for each dealIndependently negotiate non-disclosure agreements with external partners using well-defined processes, standard templates, and established playbooksAdvise clients on basic commercial, marketing, and business legal concepts; review and edit marketing materials and external communications with oversightNegotiate and redline marketing, influencer, and consulting agreements using established playbooks with minimal oversightSupport the IP team across various areas, including trademark portfolio research, IP clearances, and brand enforcement workflowsLeverage your prior work experience to help drive implementation of a new contracts management system to ensure smooth adoption across different functionsMaintain and improve legal and cross functional resources, including directories, playbooks, policies, and other key documentationServe as the day-to-day administrator and point of contact for the team's CLM/contract management system, including troubleshooting, user support, workflow configuration, and creation of training materialsIdentify process improvements or efficiencies across the team's work and drive related projects to completionEvaluate emerging AI tools for legal work — assessing fit, reliability, and risk — and make recommendations to the team on what's worth adoptingDesign and implement AI-powered workflows that make legal work more efficient and scalable (e.g., contract review assistance, self-serve resources, automated intake)SkillsA cover letter (this is mandatory!) - we want to know why you're interested in this role and how it supports your careerBA/BS or equivalent work experienceDemonstrated written and spoken communication skillsCuriosity and ability to jump into less familiar areas and learn while doingEffective critical thinking, problem solving, and project management skillsExcellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detailAbility to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressureCoachable and enthusiastic team player who thrives in a fast-moving environmentComfortable interfacing with all types of people1-2 years relevant work experience in a legal, contracts, administrative, or operations roleYou are familiar with Discord, Google Workspace, and AI toolsDemonstrated experience with a contract management system or contract lifecycle management (CLM) platformYou enjoy talking about absurd and improbable ideas for funYou are agile and open minded about tackling new challengesBenefitsEquityBenefitsCompany OverviewDiscord is an online voice, video, and text communication platform designed for creating communities.
