Legal Administrative Assistant

San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, Inc. is the oldest and most comprehensive pro bono legal services program in San Diego County, dedicated to providing equal access to the justice system. The Legal Administrative Assistant will support Staff Attorneys by screening applicants for eligibility, assisting in client services, maintaining volunteer records, and engaging in various administrative tasks to further the organization's mission. Responsibilities Screening applicants to determine eligibility for services and conduct intake of new clients Assisting in providing client services Performing computer data entry of both client and volunteer information for the purpose of conducting conflict checks and generating reports and other materials Providing coverage for the Pro Bono Administrative Coordinator during leave of absence Compiling and distributing list of volunteer opportunities Maintaining accurate volunteer records and ensuring proper registration of volunteers Assisting in organizing and presenting recruitment programs and volunteer recognition events Maintaining client files and creating forms and documents Coordinating volunteer schedules Assisting in the recruitment and training of volunteers Assisting in the scheduling of presentations and trainings Translating/interpreting for clients, as appropriate Engaging in other tasks and projects as needed to further SDVLP’s mission Skills Fluency (written and verbal) in Spanish and English required Strong Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills required Associate degree Benefits Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits Ability to participate in 401(K) with employer contribution Sick, vacation, and holiday pay provided Paid parking Company Overview San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program is a nonprofit organization that provides free legal services to low income individuals throughout San Diego County.
