About Our UX Team
Our UX team is a dynamic group of design, content, research, and accessibility practitioners and experts who are passionate about improving and innovating our digital experiences. We pride ourselves on designing tangible, inspiring, and impactful solutions that serve all aspects of our business. As a Lead Product Designer within our Guest Experience team, you'll play a critical role in delivering best-in-class digital shopping experiences for our guests.

About the Role
As a Lead UX Product Designer - Emerging Experiences, your mission is to deliver innovative and impactful digital experiences that drive engagement, loyalty, and delight for our guests. You'll leverage and develop frameworks for UX sprints, deliver functional proof of concepts, and launch new experiences in partnership with product, engineering, and other cross-functional peers and leaders. Your focus will be on deeply understanding human needs, changes in consumer trends and behavior, business opportunities, and Target's brand potential to develop actionable, multi-horizon strategies for new experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and contribute to UX strategy and vision for product experiences across digital platforms, influencing investment, collaborations, and the balance of new vs. iteration
Lead UX sprints for discovery, co-creation, future-visioning, and functional proof of concept delivery for emerging experiences in partnership with product, engineering, and other cross-functional peers and leaders
Investigate new opportunities using both qualitative and quantitative research methods and deliver artifacts leveraging design strategy and service design methods
Align internal stakeholders, accelerate experimentation, and enable us to innovate more rapidly while scaling UX learnings and best-practices across teams
Create deliverables representative of both exploratory and go-to-market design phases, such as wireframes, user flows, UI design, and prototypes
Guide design process and mentor junior designers, holding design work to a high standard of craft, including accessibility, user research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and service design
Advance a culture of human-centered practice within UX, product, and engineering teams and build a network of relationships to enable your vision in service of our guest experience and Target as a whole


About You
To succeed in this role, you'll need to be a seasoned UX professional with a strong portfolio showcasing successful product and service design work. You should thrive at the intersection of design strategy, scaled solutions, and craft, with expert skills in UX, product, and service design, as well as structuring and planning work, and owning the design process.

Essential Qualifications:

7+ years of experience as a senior or lead product designer with a strong portfolio showcasing successful product and service design work
Expert skills in UX, product, and service design, as well as structuring and planning work, and owning the design process
Advanced expertise in design strategy and service design methods (i.e., co-creation sprints)
Advanced proficiency in product design and prototyping tools (i.e., Figma)
Advanced strategic problem-solving, systems thinking, and collaboration skills
Proven ability to effectively use data and insights to set your direction and communicate your approach
Ability to balance the need for near-term solutions and long-term vision
Expertise in communicating how design connects to, serves, and improves business outcomes
Exhibit a growth mindset


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a retail or e-commerce environment
Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in UX design
Experience with design systems and accessibility guidelines
Strong understanding of human-centered design principles and methodologies
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present design concepts and solutions to non-design stakeholders

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary package, commensurate with experience, as well as a range of benefits and perks, including comprehensive health benefits, 401(k), employee discount, short-term disability, long-term disability, paid sick leave, paid national holidays, and paid vacation. Our pay range for this role is $126,600.00 - $227,900.00, and we're committed to providing a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects your skills, experience, and contributions to our team.
