This role is ideal for developers eager to grow their skills in a collaborative environment within the technology industry.You'll work with modern Perl frameworks, SQL/NoSQL databases, and RESTful APIs, collaborating across engineering and DevOps teams to deliver performant, maintainable, and secure systems.This is a full-time, remote opportunity for candidates located in LatAm, working in alignment with EST/EDT (UTC-5) time zone.ResponsibilitiesPerl Back-End DevelopmentDesign, develop, and maintain robust back-end services and APIs using Perl.Build applications using Mojolicious, Catalyst, or Dancer frameworks.Optimize and refactor legacy Perl code for maintainability and performance.System Integration & CollaborationWork closely with front-end developers, DevOps engineers, and other technical teams.Ensure seamless integration of system components and third-party services.Code Quality, Performance & SecurityOptimize code for scalability, performance, and security.Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing systems.Follow best practices in back-end development and propose process improvements.Continuous Learning & InitiativeStay current with evolving Perl technologies and back-end engineering trends.Take ownership of tasks and contribute proactively to team objectives.Required Skills & Experience1–3 years of experience in back-end development using PerlHands-on experience with Perl frameworks: Mojolicious, Catalyst, or DancerProficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDBExperience with RESTful API development and web servicesFamiliarity with Git and version control workflowsStrong problem-solving mindset and ability to take ownership of tasksExcellent communication and collaboration skillsPassion for learning and improving in a dynamic, fast-paced teamNice to HaveExperience modernizing or maintaining legacy Perl applicationsFamiliarity with Linux-based environments and Bash or Python scriptingExposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization toolsExperience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or AzureUnderstanding of asynchronous programming and messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka)Knowledge of Perl testing frameworks like Test::More or Test::SimpleExperience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesOriginally posted on Himalayas
