We also offer company-provided short-term disability, an employee assistance program, and a wellness program.Position Overview:The Junior Government Underwriter is responsible for reviewing and decisioning Government loans and clearing conditions.Job Responsibilities:Fully underwrite VA IRRRL loans and FHA Streamline loans.Meet minimum production requirements set forth by department manager.Review loan documentation for accuracy and make updates as needed, including but not limited to:Review documentation within the LOS for credit approval.Review documents returned from processing and update conditions as needed.Review the loan, determining what additional documentation is needed.Communicate directly with the branch, Underwriting, and management team via phone or email when necessary.Maintain SLAs on all reviews.Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, private investor requirements, and company policies and procedures.Qualifications and Skills:High School Diploma, or equivalent.A minimum of 2 years of processing experience in the retail mortgage lending industry.Experience with Encompass.Working knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC eligibility guidelines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel).Excellent communication skills.Excellent prioritization and time management skills to meet deadlines.Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.This job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the job and the general nature and level of work performed by job holders within this job.
