Jr. Software Tester (Remote)

Software Tester (Remote) Salary: $70k-$80k Position Purpose Conduct software testing to ensure product functionality, usability, and quality. Deliver detailed reports on defects, incidents, and features, providing insights into overall software performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Execute software testing (60%) Perform manual and automated testing using Microsoft Test Manager or equivalent tools Write and execute test cases to identify bugs, defects, and working features Validate and document defects, create and manage defect tickets, and perform regression testing Conduct ad-hoc and exploratory testing across multiple operating systems and browsers Develop and maintain automated test scripts Windows command line testing experience is a must 2. Documentation and support (15%) Assist in creating and maintaining documentation and screenshots for system use Support the development team with requirements documentation 3. Feature tracking and validation (15%) Stay current on feature progress and release readiness Validate that new features function as specified 4. Communication and collaboration (5%) Maintain effective communication with team members and management Report weekly objectives, blockers, and upcoming initiatives Participate in required meetings 5. Additional responsibilities (5%) Support special projects as assigned Maintain a clean and secure work environment Performance Expectations Testing procedures and results are well-documented and align with company standards Bugs, defects, and working features are monitored and reported accurately Test cases are created and stored according to established formats Management is kept informed of testing progress and product quality Qualifications Education/Certification Degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience Required Knowledge and Experience Experience with Microsoft operating systems, web browsers, virtual machines, and remote desktop tools Strong proficiency with Windows CMD line commands and command-based testing Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Some experience in scripting or coding for automated tests Skills and Abilities Strong attention to detail and organization Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to write clear test cases and reports Knowledge of Microsoft Test Manager and automated testing tools preferred Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new systems quickly Work Environment and Requirements Remote position; candidates must maintain a safe and ergonomic home workspace Company provides necessary hardware and reimburses reasonable internet and utility costs Must use company-provided equipment and VPN for all work-related activities Apply tot his job
