Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Aid to join our team at Lutheran Services Florida in Largo, FL. As a Preschool Aid, you will play a vital role in supporting our teaching team in developing activities for preschool children, promoting parent involvement, and fostering a safe and healthy environment. Key Responsibilities:
Assist the teacher in implementing approved curricula and activities in the classroom
Guide and facilitate daily activities, field trips, and selecting and arranging equipment and materials in the classroom
Cooperate with other staff and classroom groups to maintain the smooth functioning of the center
Write weekly observations and use parent conferences to discuss the child's individual development and progress
Assist in providing and maintaining a safe and healthy developmentally appropriate environment
Support the teacher in ensuring that at least 80% of the children are kindergarten ready
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and a National Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or Florida Child Care Professional Certificate (FCCPC) for Pre-school or Infant/Toddler Endorsement
Or Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related degree
