Job Overview We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced developer to create Receptia, a virtual receptionist capable of answering phone calls in real-time, powered by OpenAI (ChatGPT). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI, VoIP, and telephony integrations, as well as expertise in low-latency real-time development. Key Responsibilities As an AI Virtual Receptionist Developer at blithequark, you will be responsible for: Designing and developing Receptia, a virtual receptionist capable of answering phone calls in real-time, powered by OpenAI (ChatGPT) Integrating OpenAI (ChatGPT) API for intelligent handling of incoming calls Implementing real-time speech recognition using Whisper, Deepgram, or equivalent technologies Developing natural text-to-speech functionality using ElevenLabs, Azure TTS, or equivalent technologies Implementing automatic detection of Québec French and Canadian English Creating a simple web interface to manage scripts, responses, and logs Implementing audio and text conversation logging Optionally integrating CRM systems, appointment scheduling, and automatic SMS/email sending Ensuring seamless integration with VoIP/SIP systems, such as Twilio, Asterisk, or equivalent Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: Proven experience with OpenAI API integration Strong knowledge of VoIP/SIP and telephony integrations Expertise in advanced speech-to-text (STT) and text-to-speech (TTS) systems Low-latency real-time development experience Skilled in multilingual handling, particularly in Québec French and Canadian English Experience with Python, Node.js, React.js, Vue.js, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or equivalent technologies Preferred Technologies While we're open to exploring various technologies, we prefer: OpenAI API (mandatory) STT/TTS: Whisper, Deepgram, Azure, ElevenLabs VoIP/SIP: Twilio, Asterisk, or equivalent Backend: Python, Node.js Frontend: React.js, Vue.js Database: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB What We Offer As a member of our team, you can expect: A competitive compensation package A dynamic and supportive work environment Opportunities for professional growth and development Access to the latest technologies and tools A collaborative and innovative team culture Timeline We estimate the project timeline to be 4-8 weeks for Phase 1, with the possibility of extending to Phase 2, which includes CRM integration, appointment scheduling, and automatic SMS/email sending.
