IT Risk and Compliance Analyst: III (Senior)

Description We are looking for an experienced IT Risk and Compliance Analyst to join our team on a contract basis. This role requires a strategic thinker who can assess, develop, and implement security and risk management frameworks while ensuring compliance with organizational policies. The position is fully remote, offering flexibility in working hours, and requires a commitment of 35 hours per week. Responsibilities: Evaluate existing security measures and business continuity/disaster recovery plans, identifying gaps and recommending enhancements. Conduct compliance reviews to ensure adherence to IT policies and procedures, tracking remediation efforts and preparing audit responses. Develop and implement risk management strategies that safeguard the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of organizational data and systems. Collaborate with business units to identify necessary security controls and address deficiencies, documenting progress and ensuring alignment with project goals. Assess vendor contracts to confirm compliance with security, business continuity, and disaster recovery standards, and suggest necessary updates. Prepare detailed reports on security risks and compliance issues, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate potential threats. Monitor and document the implementation of security controls within technology and business projects. Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and facilitating responses to auditor inquiries. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of risk management frameworks and industry best practices to enhance organizational policies. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure understanding and adoption of security measures. Requirements Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as Information Security or IT Risk Management. Proven experience in assessing administrative and technical security controls within a risk management framework. Strong background in IT controls assessment, technology risk management, and compliance functions. Proficiency in developing and implementing risk management strategies and disaster recovery plans. Ability to evaluate vendor agreements for compliance with organizational security requirements. Exceptional analytical skills to identify deficiencies and recommend mitigation strategies. Solid understanding of business continuity planning and its integration with IT systems. Effective communication skills to articulate risks and solutions to diverse stakeholders.
