International Logistics Specialist (Virtual, US)

• About the Opportunity:
• The International Logistics Specialist serves as the primary coordinator for international employee relocations. This role manages the entire moving process, ensuring high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction. It involves communication with clients, agents, and vendors to organize and oversee the shipment of household goods, resolve issues, and optimize shipment profitability. The position is essential for guiding employees through their move and maintaining operational efficiency.
• Responsibilities:
• Set move expectations and proactively address customer needs
• Handle customer inquiries with urgency and empathy, including occasional after-hours communication
• Manage and monitor customer expectations, requests, and issues promptly
• Maintain quality service standards according to organizational scorecards
• Coordinate logistics, pricing, and move details with agents and supply chain contacts globally
• Communicate and report to accounts and bookers as needed
• Identify process improvements and collaborate with management for resolution
• Coordinate with departments such as accounts payable, billing, claims management, and account management
• Follow established move management processes and proprietary workflow systems
• Plan and ensure efficient, cost-effective shipment routing based on customer requirements
• Select and coordinate movers, freight lines, and customs partners for shipment forwarding
• Mitigate financial risks from operational challenges using knowledge and persistence
• Generate and manage rate quotes for all move components including trucking, customs, and destination services
• Maintain accountability for shipment margin, vendor selection, and transportation expenses
• Evaluate and ensure profitable routing and fair market vendor rates through negotiation
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and negotiate settlements with vendors and partners
• Document issues to prevent recurrence and follow formal dispute resolution processes
• Maintain data integrity and documentation in global move management systems
• Manage paperwork and ensure timely document forwarding and billing enablement
• Investigate and resolve revenue disputes and expense exceptions
• Initiate claims and support customers through the claims process
• Monitor and negotiate to settle vendor and customer exceptions
• Meet key performance indicators related to customer satisfaction and operational goals
• Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 2 years of industry or freight forwarding experience, or 3 years in related customer service
• Basic knowledge of world geography
• Strong analytical skills including revenue, expense margin, and basic mathematics (weight, density, rates)
• Ability to identify problems and develop solutions
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Cultural awareness and time management abilities
• Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
