About the position

The American Heart Association is offering a social media internship for college students, providing hands-on experience in a non-profit environment. This role focuses on creating compelling content for social media channels while working with the digital team in the Eastern States Marketing and Communication department. Interns will gain valuable skills in social media management and contribute to the organization's mission of promoting health and hope for everyone.

Responsibilities
• Work with the digital team to craft and execute social media posts for Facebook, X, and Instagram.

• Monitor results of social media content on key platforms and provide analysis of findings.
,
• Source new content ideas and monitor trends on social platforms.
,
• Conduct an analysis of what other organizations and brands are doing on social media and present findings to the digital team.
,
• Learn brand standards and ensure content aligns with the goals and mission of the organization.

Requirements
• Candidates who are seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in marketing or public health with experience in social media and graphic design.
,
• Knowledge and experience with social media platforms, including Facebook, X, and Instagram.
,
• Knowledge and experience with social media scheduling tools, such as Sprinklr or similar.
,
• Basic video, graphic design, and writing skills; experience with Canva or similar preferred.
,
• Experience with social media monitoring, reporting, and analysis.
,
• Ability to deal professionally in a corporate or non-profit environment and assume responsibility for guiding projects and programs from inception through completion.
,
• Effective oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
,
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience in a non-profit environment.
