Interior Design Assistant

ABOUT US We are a boutique architectural interior design studio dedicated to creating thoughtful, beautiful, and functional spaces. We are in the process of opening our new office and showroom in Amityville, NY. We are looking for a part-time assistant to help with day-to-day operations and client support. This is a great opportunity to grow with our team and learn the interior design business from the ground up. ROLE OVERVIEW As our Part-Time Assistant, you will wear multiple hats to support our lead designer and the studio’s operations. • No prior design experience is necessary - training will be provided. This role is ideal for a personable, organized, and creative individual with an interest in interior design. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Communicate with clients via phone, email, and in person • Onboard new clients and assist with appointment scheduling • Make appointments for the lead designer • Call clients and follow up as needed • Organize digital files, presentations, and Studio Designer content • Pick up and drop off material samples • Greet clients at the showroom/office • Assist with sourcing materials, fabrics, tiles, wallpaper, and other interior design elements • Communicate and follow up with vendors • Create and send purchase orders (POs) • Organize and maintain sample library (fabric, tile, wallpaper, material) QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS • No prior interior design experience required • Must have a creative, forward-thinking mindset • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Personable with excellent communication skills • Interest in architecture and interior design/home decor • Willingness to learn and take direction SCHEDULE • 20 hours per week (flexible, approximately 3 days/week) • Hours may increase within 6 months. We are looking for long term commitment that will morph into a full-time position with added commission structure as the Design Assistant begins selling product!
