Instructional Designer – Contract (K–8) Part-Time | Remote | Flexible Schedule | Independent Contractor (1099)Center for Responsive Schools is seeking an experiencedInstructional Designerto join our Fly Five Social and Emotional Learning team on a contract basis. In this role, you’ll work closely with our curriculum team to design and develop engaging, research-based lessons and resources for K–8 students and educators.About the Role The Contract Instructional Designer will collaborate with our team to create high-quality instructional products and tools—including print, multimedia, and digital materials—while managing their own schedule and workflow to meet agreed-upon deliverables. This is a part‑time, project-based engagement that offers flexibility, autonomy in how you approach your work, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful educational projects.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop lessons in alignment with the C.A.R.E.S. standards and Fly Five goals.Design active, experiential, and inclusive curriculum content for K–8 learners.Create scalable instructional materials for educators, stakeholders, and students.Collaborate with the project team during scheduled check‑ins and respond to agreed‑upon feedback.Attend mandatory project meetings and weekly check‑ins (between 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. ET).Integrate literacy principles, diversity, and equity into curriculum resources.Provide completed deliverables according to project timelines and quality standards.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, or related field (Master’s preferred).Minimum 3 years’ experience in K–8 teaching, instructional design, or curriculum development.Strong project management skills and ability to work independently.Access to own computer, software, and reliable internet connection.Contract DetailsType:Independent contractor (1099)Hours:Approximately 20 per weekSchedule:Flexible; must meet deliverables and attend required meetings/check‑ins between 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. ETLocation:RemoteEquipment:Contractor provides own computer; CRS provides access to required filesDuration:Three‑month contract; may be terminated as neededAbout Us Center for Responsive Schools (CRS) is a nonprofit educational organization committed to helping schools become joyful, engaging learning communities where every student can thrive.
