Independent Contractor - Leasing Agent (La Quinta, CA)

About the Role
We are seeking a licensed real estate professional to support our growing portfolio of single-family residential properties in Hemet and La Quinta, CA. This independent contractor will serve as the primary point of contact for all leasing activity. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a flexible work environment and has experience leasing residential homes.

Key Responsibilities

· Market and show vacant properties, prescreen and explain the application process.

· Coordinate move-ins and move-outs, including walk-throughs and inspection reports.

· Partner with corporate staff to define turn scopes and timelines.

· Perform regular property inspections and report findings to ownership.

· Ensure all leasing and management activities comply with California landlord/tenant laws and fair housing regulations.

Qualifications

· Active California Real Estate License (required).

· 3–5 years of experience in leasing (single-family).

· Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

· Proficiency with leasing and property management platforms (e.g., Yardi), Excel, and Word & Outlook.

· Reliable transportation and availability to travel to properties as needed.

· Self-motivated with a high level of professionalism and accountability.

Compensation

· This is a 1099 independent contractor position.

· Compensation is paid on leased properties with successful move-ins.

Additional Details

· No benefits, insurance, or payroll taxes will be provided or withheld.

· Flexible work-from-home structure; fieldwork required for showings, inspections, and move coordination.
