In Papua New Guinea , PanAust holds a 100 per cent interest in the Frieda River Limited Copper-Gold project, which is a transformative pre-development integrated mining, renewable energy and infrastructure project. The complete Frieda River Project represents a nation building opportunity for Papua New Guinea and a transformative sustainable development opportunity for the Sepik region. The Project will help build stronger and more viable communities by establishing necessary public infrastructure, generating skilled employment, and creating business opportunities for local people. In Laos , PanAust owns a 90 per cent interest in Phu Bia Mining Limited with the Government of Laos owning the remaining 10 per cent. Phu Bia Mining owns and operates PanAust’s two award winning operations – Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver, both located in Xaisomboun Province, 120km north of Vientiane. In Chile , PanAust holds a 66 per cent interest in the Inca de Oro Copper-Gold Project through a Chilean incorporated joint venture company, Inca de Oro S. A. The Role We are currently recruiting for experienced team members to join us on a Fixed-Term basis for a period of Six (6) months to support our Drill Program. We are seeking a motivated Human Resources Officer to join our HR team at the Frieda River Project. Reporting to the Human Resources Superintendent, this role will support the delivery of HR services for the drilling program. The position plays a key role in recruitment, employee relations, HR administration, and implementation of HR policies, ensuring effective workforce management and compliance with company policies and PNG labour regulations. Key Responsibilities Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities , including advertising roles, screening candidates, maintaining a job seekers database, and managing recruitment for short-term fixed roles. Prepare and manage employment documentation , including contracts, offer letters, confirmation letters, and certificates of service. Support employee onboarding and offboarding , including inductions, travel arrangements, immigration/visa coordination, site accommodation, and exit processes. Maintain accurate HR records, employee databases, and workforce documentation , ensuring information such as contracts, benefits, emergency contacts, training records, and employment changes are up to date. Provide guidance to employees and supervisors on HR policies, procedures, employment terms, and benefits programs including superannuation, healthcare, housing, and other entitlements. Assist in managing employee relations matters , including responding to queries, grievances, and disciplinary processes. Support payroll coordination , including preparation of timesheets, payroll summaries, cash payments at site, and processing NASFund and NCSL documentation for employees and leavers. Coordinate employee benefits administration , including superannuation, medical insurance enrolment, and support with bank account setup. Manage training administration , including maintaining training matrices and recording training attendance for reporting purposes. Provide general HR operational support and project assistance. We are looking for candidates who possess: A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline 3–5 years’ experience in Human Resources, ideally within the mining, resources, or project environment Knowledge of HR practices and PNG labour regulations Experience working in remote field-based locations, preferably on roster. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships Excellent organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity Strong communication and coordination skills Why Join Us?
