Role Description
BJC is hiring for an Outpatient/Professional Lead Coder. We are looking for previous coding experience in ancillary or ED. This role is responsible for being a mentor for the coders on the team.
ā¢ Acts as liaison with hospital departments/committees regarding coding issues
ā¢ Provides quality improvement monitoring for coding activities
ā¢ Conducts ongoing training related to coding processes
ā¢ Performs quality reviews of coded information
ā¢ Provides coding instruction/resource to coding staff
Qualifications
ā¢ At least one of the following certifications is required: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, COC, or CCA
ā¢ High School Diploma or GED
ā¢ 2-5 years of experience
Requirements
ā¢ No supervisor experience required
ā¢ Cert/Lic in Area of Expertise
Preferred Qualifications
ā¢ 5-10 years of experience
