What You'll Do
• Evaluate applications and supporting documents to assess risk and determine eligibility for coverage.
• Make underwriting decisions based on established guidelines, pricing strategies, and risk appetite.
• Collaborate with senior underwriters to review complex cases or escalate exceptions.
• Ensure accurate documentation and input of underwriting decisions into internal systems.
• Assist with identifying trends or patterns in underwriting outcomes and contribute ideas for process improvements.
• Work cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., sales, claims, operations) to support a consistent and efficient customer experience.
What You'll Bring
• 2+ years of underwriting experience (insurance underwriting required)
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Strong attention to detail with solid analytical and problem-solving skills
• Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and eagerness to learn
• Basic understanding of insurance products and underwriting principles
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and balance multiple tasks effectively
