About the position
Hoar is seeking qualified applicants for its Internship Program in civil engineering, construction engineering, or building/construction sciences for the Spring 2025 term. This internship provides exposure to various aspects of the construction process, including estimating, project management, and fieldwork.
Responsibilities
Ā Gaining an understanding of the construction process
,
Ā Participating in quantity takeoff/quantity estimating
,
Ā Working with the submittal process: maintaining appropriate logs, reviewing and approving shop drawings and submittals
,
Ā Preparing transmittals for distribution for project documentation
,
Ā Assisting in jobsite setup, permitting, and closeout
Requirements
Ā Currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Building Science
,
Ā Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
,
Ā Maintain a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA
,
Ā Able to work 40 hours per week during the spring semester
,
Ā Completed college freshman year
,
Ā Desire to pursue a career in the construction industry upon graduation
,
Ā Strong written and verbal communication skills
,
Ā Valid Driver's License
