Head of Philanthropy & Grants
Our client, a highly respected non-profit organization dedicated to social impact, is seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Philanthropy & Grants to lead their fundraising and grant management efforts. This position is fully remote, enabling individuals to contribute their expertise from anywhere within the US. The Head of Philanthropy & Grants will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies, cultivating relationships with major donors, and securing vital grant funding to support the organization's mission. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of philanthropic trends, exceptional grant writing skills, and a proven ability to inspire and engage stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic fundraising plans to meet annual and long-term revenue goals. Cultivate and manage relationships with major individual donors, foundations, and corporate giving programs. Lead the identification, research, proposal writing, and reporting for grant applications to various funding sources. Oversee the entire grant lifecycle, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and timely submission of all deliverables. Organize and execute fundraising events and campaigns to engage donors and raise awareness. Develop compelling fundraising materials, including proposals, case statements, and donor communications. Analyze fundraising data and provide regular reports on progress towards goals to senior leadership and the Board of Directors. Supervise and mentor a small team of development and grant professionals. Stay informed about best practices in philanthropy, fundraising, and grant management. Collaborate with program staff to ensure alignment between funding priorities and organizational mission and impact.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Non-profit Management, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in fundraising, development, or grant management within the non-profit sector. Demonstrated success in securing major gifts and grants from diverse funding sources. Exceptional grant writing and proposal development skills, with a proven ability to craft persuasive narratives. Strong understanding of donor relations management, cultivation, and stewardship strategies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation abilities. Proven leadership and team management experience. Proficiency with donor management software (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce for Nonprofits). Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting. Passion for the organization's mission and a commitment to social impact.
