This role is accountable for global compliance, systems and process optimization, and the development of a high-performing team. Working closely with HR, Finance, Legal, and IT, the Head of Global Payroll supports business growth and meets regulatory standards across all regions.What you'll do:Payroll Operations & ComplianceOversee accurate and timely payroll processing across all global regionsEnsure full compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, social security, and other statutory requirementsMonitor changes in global payroll regulations and update internal practices as neededManage payroll audits and serve as the point of contact for external auditors and tax authoritiesEnsure equity compensation is processed and reported accurately and in compliance with tax requirementsSystems & Process OptimizationLead the implementation, optimization, and integration of payroll systems and tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and data integrityDevelop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure consistency and complianceDefine and track KPIs and SLAs to monitor payroll performance and identify improvement opportunitiesTeam Leadership & CollaborationManage and develop a team of global payroll professionals, providing feedback, coaching, and performance supportMentor team members to strengthen skills and support long-term career growthCollaborate with HR, Finance, Legal, and IT to align payroll processes with broader organizational goalsAdvise leadership on payroll-related matters, including compliance, process improvements, and cost managementThe Experience you bring:10+ years of experience managing global payroll service provider relationships, including 3+ years in a multi-country payroll leadership rolePrior experience leading a geographically dispersed payroll team within a global companyProven success implementing and scaling payroll systems in a multinational environmentStrong knowledge of global payroll compliance, particularly in the U.S. and EMEA, including statutory deductions, tax rates, and benefits regulationsStrong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesDeep understanding of HRIS systems and their integration with payroll platformsHigh attention to detail and accuracy, with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to partner across geographies and functionsFamiliarity with data protection regulations and confidentiality best practicesProficiency in G Suite and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Google Sheets, for payroll data analysis and reportingBonus points if you have: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related fieldAren’t sure if you’re a match? The base compensation for this position in the US ranges between $149,000 - $222,000 annually + applicable bonus. This position is remote-friendly and, as such, final compensation will be determined by various factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
