Job description

Hey! I’m Danielle Locke. I help nonprofit directors raise more money so they can do more and stress less. But it’s not just me. I’m backed by a dedicated team at Locke Step Partners. We provide services to support board development, nonprofit leadership, capital projects, strategic and operations planning, program development, HR policy and procedures.

We also offer ancillary services such as grant writing, funder research, donor prospect research, data entry, database clean-up and migration, copywriting, proofreading.

Hours:
Assigned on a project or client basis. It can vary from 5 to 10 hours per month, depends greatly based on the number of grant seeking clients we have at a time. We provide you with access to DonorSearch, iWave and other subscription research tools.

Responsibilities

· Research grant opportunities and craft lists of funding opportunities for nonprofit clients (Funding Scans, etc).

· Develop, write, and submit grant proposals to private and corporate foundations on behalf of Locke Step Partners’ nonprofit clients.

· Help clients craft application components, including program budgets and narratives.

What is
not
expected:

· Grants management or grant reporting (unless contracted separately).

· Creation of programming, impact measurement or anything related to programs/services.

Required Technical skills:

· Email, Microsoft Word, Excel, Asana

· Google Drive, Google Docs

· Ability to navigate online application platforms such as Benevity, Double the Donation and Foundant.

Requirements:

· 3-5 years’ experience as a grant writer or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Fantastic organization, capable of balancing multiple projects effectively.

· Excellent oral, written and text communication skills.

· Responsive, reliable, efficient, flexible including the ability to provide timely progress reports to Locke Step Partners.

· Enthusiastic, self-motivated, thorough, committed to excellence.

· Discretion and trustworthiness with confidential client information.

· Resourcefulness, excellent time management skills

· Curious with a willingness to develop a working knowledge of each client’s programs and
