Google Vertex AI Developer
About the position ITTConnect is seeking a Google Vertex AI Developer to work for one of our clients. This is a position with a client that is a global leader in consulting, digital transformation, technology and engineering services present in nearly 50 countries. The end client is in the Telecom area (internet, cable TV). We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced developer. This role is ideal for self-starters who thrive in fast-paced, Agile environments, possess excellent communication skills, and consistently deliver high-quality code and scalable solutions. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js (mandatory). • Build and deploy applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with a focus on: • Cloud Run for containerized service deployment. • AI Applications (formerly Agent Builder) for intelligent automation. • Gemini Family of Models via Discovery Engine API for advanced AI capabilities. • Integrate AI/ML capabilities into backend systems to enhance automation and intelligence. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, frontend developers, and data scientists to deliver impactful features. • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to SAFe Agile team practices. • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code; participate in code reviews and continuous improvement discussions. • Ensure application performance, reliability, and scalability through proactive monitoring and optimization. Requirements • 4–5 years of consulting or equivalent experience in cloud-native application development, ideally in fast-paced, client-facing environments. • Strong proficiency in Node.js, with a proven track record of building and maintaining scalable backend services. • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including: • Cloud Run for deploying containerized applications. • Vertex AI / AI Applications (formerly Agent Builder) for intelligent automation. • Gemini Family of Models and Discovery Engine API for advanced AI integration • Strong understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and asynchronous programming patterns. • Familiarity with AI/ML model integration into backend systems, including model deployment, inference, and monitoring. • Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code, with familiarity in CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git). • Experience working in SAFe Agile teams, including participation in PI planning, sprint ceremonies, and cross-functional collaboration. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Comfortable working in globally distributed teams and across time zones (the client expectation is that candidates will participate in work sessions until at least 11 AM ET and be available between 9 PM ET and 9 AM ET for Production Support, when required) Nice-to-haves • Experience integrating AI/ML models into production systems. • Familiarity with the Gemini model family and Discovery Engine API. • Prior experience in Telecom, media, or similar industries.
