GCP Cloud Architect

About the position As a Cloud Architect, you will work within our growing DevSecOps practice delivering features to support cloud migration, cloud optimization, and cloud deployment. We are looking for candidates with 8-10 years experience with cloud platform services and DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code and confirmation management automation. Responsibilities β€’ Identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the customer β€’ Design cloud environments and demonstrate technical cloud architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the design of production, staging, QA, and development of cloud infrastructures running in 24Γ—7 environments β€’ Implement and oversee cloud strategies include migrations and optimization β€’ Establishing development tools and infrastructure for automation β€’ Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers β€’ Automate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processes β€’ Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results β€’ Perform root cause analysis on complex business processes and technical components. β€’ Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats β€’ Identifying technical problems, performing root cause analysis, and developing software updates and β€˜fixes’ β€’ Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended β€’ Support enterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure through infrastructure as code including any activities around automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, and monitoring and testing, such as CI/CD β€’ Document as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations β€’ Leverage virtualization and containerization to optimize and modernize software systems β€’ Act as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team members β€’ Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services provided β€’ Present regular status updates and provide cross training to other team members. Requirements β€’ Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance β€’ Candidates must be local to the Washington, DC metro as required work on-site in Bethesda, MD, two (2) days per week β€’ BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience β€’ 10+ Years of total experience β€’ 8 Years of Experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions β€’ 8 Years of Experience with one or more clouds (i.e. AWS, Azure, or GCP) β€’ Hands-on experience as a Cloud Architect with expertise in GCP β€’ 8 Years of Experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket β€’ 8 Years of Experience with systems development in an Agile environment β€’ 8 Years of Experience implementing infrastructure as code and orchestration β€’ 8 Years of Experience integrating deployments with industry standard DevSecOps tooling and orchestration β€’ 5 Years of Experience in several of the following areas: database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analytics β€’ Must have and maintain an active, relevant certification Nice-to-haves β€’ MS Degree in an IT-related field β€’ Certifications: β€’ AWS Certified DevOps Engineer β€’ AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional β€’ GCP Professional CLoud Architect β€’ Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert β€’ Microsoft Certified Solution Architect Expert β€’ SAFe DevOps Certification β€’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills β€’ Experience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations preferred β€’ Experience with scripting in Concourse, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby β€’ Experience implementing docker containers and utilizing platforms such as Kubernetes β€’ Experience with automation tools, including Pivotal, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
