Game Developer – MVP
This role is for a skilled game developer to bring a unique turn-based strategy game to life, inspired by classics like Risk and Settlers of Catan but set in a richly detailed sci-fi universe. The project centers on building a playable MVP that supports up to 10 players in online multiplayer, featuring territory and resource management, army combat, and planet development. A standout requirement is a robust Game Master/Admin mode, enabling real-time control over armies, regions, and NPC factions.
The ideal candidate will work independently to translate an existing game concept and rule system into a modular, scalable Unity application, laying the groundwork for future feature expansion. Clear, proactive communication and the ability to manage the development process autonomously are essential, as the client has limited availability.
Deliverables
• Develop a playable MVP in Unity, including a basic map, turn system, army placement, simple combat, and resource generation.
• Implement online multiplayer functionality for up to 10 players.
• Create a Game Master/Admin interface for real-time management of armies, regions, and NPC factions.
• Integrate territory and resource management systems.
• Ensure modular, clean code to facilitate future feature additions.
• Provide technical documentation and clear communication throughout the project.
Requirements
• Proven experience developing online multiplayer games, preferably in Unity.
• Strong understanding of turn-based strategy mechanics and game systems.
• Ability to design and implement scalable, modular codebases.
• Experience with server-client architecture and real-time game logic.
• Familiarity with map-based gameplay and resource management.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Availability to deliver a functional MVP and iterate based on feedback.
• Fluency in English; remote work is acceptable.
