Job description: Overview Health Information Partners is seeking a detail-oriented and experiencedOutpatient Surgery Coderto join our team full-time. This role focuses on accurate coding of outpatient surgical procedures across multiple specialties, supporting compliant reimbursement and timely claim submission. Duties • Review and analyze outpatient surgery medical records to assign accurateICD-10-CM,CPT, andHCPCScodes • Ensure proper sequencing of codes per federal, state, and payer-specific guidelines • Verify coding and billing accuracy to support clean claims and optimal reimbursement • Collaborate with revenue cycle, compliance, and clinical teams to resolve edits, denials, and documentation gaps • Participate in coding audits and quality assurance initiatives • Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality • Support onboarding and training for new coding staff • Contribute to workflow and process improvements related to outpatient surgery coding Requirements • Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Clinical Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent required. • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in outpatient coding. • Proven experience in medical coding with a strong understanding of ICD coding, CPT coding, DRG classifications, and medical billing processes. • Familiarity with EPIC system is highly desirable. • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to interpret clinical documentation accurately. • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
