Freight Dispatcher (Independent Contractor)

ā¢ OR

Responsibilities
ā¢ Find and book profitable freight
ā¢ Negotiate rates with brokers
ā¢ Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments
ā¢ Dispatch drivers and provide load details
ā¢ Track shipments and provide updates
ā¢ Maintain accurate records in TMS
ā¢ Represent the company professionally
What We Expect
ā¢ Ability to consistently secure $3.00+ per mile loads
ā¢ Strong negotiation skills
ā¢ Understanding of Hours of Service (HOS) regulations
ā¢ Knowledge of freight markets and lanes
ā¢ Ability to maximize profit per truck (not just load count)
Important Guidelines
ā¢ No double brokering or working with fraudulent brokers
ā¢ Must follow FMCSA safety compliance
ā¢ Cannot pressure drivers to violate Hours of Service
ā¢ Must prioritize assigned trucks
Independent Contractor Role
This is a 1099 position, meaning:
ā¢ You control your schedule
ā¢ You may work with other carriers (no conflict of interest)
ā¢ You are responsible for your own taxes
Performance Focus
We measure success based on:
ā¢ Revenue per mile
ā¢ Load quality
ā¢ Efficient routing
ā¢ Overall truck profitability
