What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct research and provide written analyses of public policy and tax measures
- Prepare tax receipt and refund forecasts using econometric techniques and SAS Viya
- Model revenue and distributional impacts of tax policy changes
- Lead author and project manager for evaluations of state tax credits
- Estimate fiscal impacts of proposed changes to the Iowa tax code, focusing on corporation income tax
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Seven years of full-time professional-level work experience in budget analysis, financial management, accounting, law, or management analysis
- Alternatively, one year of relevant work experience plus a combination of education and experience totaling four years
- Two years of graduate-level education in public or business administration, law, economics, finance, or accounting may substitute for experience
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct analysis of large data sets
- Effective oral and written communication skills

- Demonstrated experience in conducting research on public policy
- Familiarity with state and federal tax policy
