Fire Protection Designer (Sprinkler Systems) - Hybrid

Fire Protection Designer - Waltham, MA
~ $95,000-$115,000/year DOE | Direct Hire | Hybrid Schedule
An established mechanical contractor is seeking a Fire Protection Designer to support sprinkler system design for projects in life sciences, healthcare, and higher education. Projects range in size from $50K to $20M and are located throughout the Greater Boston area.
Responsibilities:
ā¢ Design layouts for sprinkler systems in coordination with other MEP trades
ā¢ Perform hydraulic calculations and generate stock listings
ā¢ Attend coordination meetings (virtual and/or in person)
ā¢ Conduct site surveys and hydrant flow tests
ā¢ Support estimating team with review and preparation of bid drawings
Qualifications:
ā¢ ~ 3+ years of sprinkler design and hydraulic calculation experience
ā¢ Strong technical knowledge of fire protection systems
ā¢ Working knowledge of NFPA standards
ā¢ NICET certification preferred
ā¢ Experience with AutoSPRINK preferred
ā¢ Previous field installation experience a plus
ā¢ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
ā¢ Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects
ā¢ Highly organized, detail-oriented, and efficient
ā¢ Strong communication skills and commitment to client satisfaction
Additional Information:
ā¢ Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flexible)
ā¢ Work Environment: Hybrid (some remote flexibility), not fully remote
ā¢ Travel: Occasional local site visits
ā¢ Overtime: May be required on occasion
ā¢ Work Attire: Business casual
ā¢ Employment Type: Full-time, direct hire
