About the position

The Financial Reporting Analyst position at the Florida Department of Transportation involves performing reconciliations of Department Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) records to State Accounts for cash receipts and disbursements. The analyst ensures that the Department's cash balance aligns with State Accounts and notifies appropriate personnel of any issues identified. Responsibilities include reviewing trial balances for anomalies, assisting in annual year-end closing processes, preparing financial reporting entries, and providing assistance to Department staff in establishing new FLAIR accounting codes. The role also involves monthly reconciliations of various accounts and completing special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities
? Perform reconciliation of FLAIR records to State Accounts for cash receipts and disbursements.

? Ensure Department's cash balance agrees with State Accounts.
,
? Review trial balance for anomalies and notify personnel of issues.
,
? Assist in annual year-end closing processes and prepare necessary financial reporting entries.

? Provide assistance in establishing new FLAIR accounting codes.

? Assist fiscal staff and budget coordinators in analyzing FLAIR data.

? Perform monthly reconciliations of various accounts.

? Research and complete special projects as assigned.

Requirements
? Four years of work-related experience in an accounting or auditing related field.
,
? A college degree in a business-related field can be substituted for required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Nice-to-haves
? Knowledge of Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR).

? Knowledge of Governmental Accounting, Auditing and Financial Reporting (GAAFR).
,
? Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
,
? Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
