Financial Analyst II

The Financial Analyst II will compile and analyze financial data for budget planning and decision support while providing customer assistance in analyzing financial reports and utilizing financial tools.ResponsibilitiesCompile and analyze data used in budget planning, decision support, productivity, variance analysis, economic justification, and special projects in accordance with established departmental standards, policies, and proceduresProvide customer assistance and education in analyzing financial reports and utilizing various financial toolsPerform in-depth ad hoc financial analysis with recommendation and conclusionMaintain financial application(s) integrity, through daily/monthly/quarterly maintenance and processing of data loads, reconciliations, and structure maintenanceComplete reconciliations of data from feeder systems (e.g., General Ledger, Payroll, etc.) to the DSS system, Kaufman Hall, Workforce Analytics, and other systems utilized by local finance team(s)Develop in-depth knowledge of the statistics utilized in the Decision Support System, General Ledger, Kaufman Hall, Workforce Analytics, etcMonitor the collection of statistics to ensure receipt in a timely fashionUpdate statistics on a monthly/quarterly basis and ensure the accuracy of all statistics through an in-depth review procedureRecommend to management changes to RHM statistical data collection that more closely reflects Trinity standards and results and better source dataIndependently perform routine financial analysis (e.g., routine pricing studies, Six Sigma financial entitlements, equipment replacement financial studies) with minimal supervisionParticipate in special projects as instructed by senior personnel and assist in intermediate financial analysis (ex. Service line analysis, develop new department or service economic justifications) with supervisionAbility to function independently with minimal oversight and directionDisplay high level of accountability and demonstrate mid-level competency of technical and troubleshooting expertiseCommunicate in written and oral form effectively with internal and external users, including management and administrationAbility and temperament to communicate in a tactful, pleasant, and helpful manner the results of complex analysesAbility to make presentations to interdepartmental staff members and other various management levelsAbility to organize, plan and carry out functional activitiesDemonstrate interest and motivation to increase working knowledge of the job, hospital, and industry updates, including rules and regulations as they pertain to the hospital financial areaAbility and temperament to adapt to constantly changing conditions and other various job detailsAbility and temperament to exercise good judgment in work related situationsSkillsBachelor of Science in business administration, finance/accounting or other healthcare related area or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of one to two years experience in finance and/or accounting analysis requiredDemonstrated understanding of the principles of general accounting and theories of financeProficiency in Microsoft application suite, particularly ExcelKnowledge of healthcare nomenclature, business processes, and clinical functionsStrong analytical, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with excellent organizational skills and attention to detailThree to four years experience in finance and/or accounting analysis preferredPrevious experience in a hospital environment is desirableBenefitsCompetitive compensationDAILYPAYBenefits effective Day One!
