Finance Manager - Decision Support

About the position

Responsibilities
• Oversee the operating and capital budget processes for UCSF Health.
• Manage the long-term financial planning and benchmarking activities.
• Lead financial reporting and ad hoc analyses to support decision-making.
• Supervise a team of two Senior Decision Support specialists.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders and leadership to deliver financial objectives.
• Utilize financial solutions like EPSi, Cognos, Tableau, and Hyperion for performance measurement.
• Develop presentations to communicate key financial information to stakeholders.
• Identify financial challenges and implement innovative solutions to achieve desired outcomes.
• Foster collaboration with other departments to integrate financial insights into business strategies.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a related area or four years of relevant experience.
• Six or more years of proven experience in investment banking, consulting, finance, and/or healthcare.
• Excellent financial analysis abilities, including experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Strategic thinking regarding financial goals and alignment with business strategies.
• Strong leadership and management skills to drive key processes and team performance.
• Critical-thinking skills with proficiency in identifying financial challenges and developing solutions.
• Experience collaborating with other departments to integrate financial insights.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

Nice-to-haves
• Functional understanding of relational databases (i.e. SQL) and large data analysis.
• Experience with EPSi, Tableau, and Hyperion Essbase.
• Experience with hospital or health system finance.
