This is an excellent opportunity to start your career in our growing Field Service team and make a difference. You will receive comprehensive training from our colleagues to support your development within Thermo Fisher Scientific. The focus of this role is the installation, preventive maintenance, instrument qualification, and troubleshooting of chromatographic (HPLC / IC) devices.

A Day in the Life:
Collaborate with colleagues in the customer care center to efficiently schedule service visits and exceed customer expectations. Install chromatography products, demonstrate instrument specifications, and provide customer familiarization training. Perform preventive maintenance, qualifications, troubleshooting, and failure analysis while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures. Maintain strong customer relationships and contribute to service performance targets.

What to expect:
Collaborate with customer care teams to plan and schedule service visits

Install chromatography instruments and provide customer familiarization training

Perform preventive maintenance and instrument qualification activities

Troubleshoot and analyze instrument failures

Prepare detailed service documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements

Contribute to service targets including bookings, revenue, profitability, and cost management

Follow all internal service procedures and customer regulations

Build and maintain strong professional customer relationships

Manage company assets including inventory, tools, software, and company vehicle

Coordinate service planning with dispatchers, team leaders, and other stakeholders

Travel extensively within Switzerland and occasionally internationally across EMEA and the United States

Keys to Success:
Education
Technical education or chemical background

Valid driving license

Experience
Experience with chromatography systems (HPLC / IC) preferred

2–3 years of experience servicing chromatography products or working as a user is advantageous

Experience in customer-facing technical support environments is beneficial

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Curiosity about analytical instruments, systems, applications, new products, and technologies

Proficient in German with good English language skills

Strong hardware and software knowledge, particularly Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications

Strong problem-solving abilities

Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Excellent interpersonal, self-motivation, and negotiation skills

Willingness and passion for frequent travel
