Job Highlights: Location: Remote (with some on-site requirements) Compensation: Competitive salary ($15.32 or $16.08 per hour, depending on experience) Schedule: 29 hours per week Benefits: In accordance with Board policy Start Date: Immediate openings available Job Summary: As a Title I Tutor, you will work with small groups of students and individual students in reading and math, providing targeted support to help them improve their skills and achieve academic success. You will work closely with classroom teachers and building administrators to determine the instructional needs of each student and develop strategies to support their learning. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Administer reading and math tests to identify the level of student achievement Work with classroom teachers and building administrators to determine the instructional needs of each Title I student Provide targeted support to small groups of students and individual students in reading and math Maintain accurate records of student progress and maintain student files as required by federal, state, and local guidelines Assist the Federal Programs Office in gathering data for reporting to state and/or federal agencies Attend in-service classes, building meetings, monthly program meetings, and district meetings Prepare tutoring area for instructional activities and construct learning materials Operate equipment such as tape recorders, VCRs, overhead projectors, and copy machines Assist students on arrival and departure from tutoring area Design tutoring schedule for working with qualified Title I students Order materials and supplies through the Building Administrator Communicate with parents and families as directed by teacher or administrator Maintain high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality Other Duties and Responsibilities: Perform all other duties as assigned Participate in the school as a regular part of the staff and accept supervision and other duties as requested Have regular and predictable attendance Requirements and Qualifications: Education and Experience: Minimum of 48 college credits or a minimum score of 460 on the ParaPro Praxis Previous experience working with students, particularly in a Title I setting, is preferred but not mandatory Skills and Competencies: Knowledge and skill in teaching and using math and reading, including the ability to pronounce vowels, consonants, phrases, and words in a phonetically correct manner Ability to administer standardized and other diagnostic tests Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed Ability to work with staff, students, and the public Computer knowledge and experience with word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, etc. Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: As a valued member of our team, you will have access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities to support your growth and success as an educator.
