Job Summary As a Special Education Teacher at Arrowhead Ranch Inc., you'll play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of our students. You'll work closely with our team of professionals to design and implement engaging lesson plans, manage classroom behavior, and track student progress. We're looking for a skilled and compassionate educator who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with diverse needs. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement instructional plans that cater to the unique needs, interests, and abilities of students with IEPs Create a structured and supportive classroom environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth Collaborate with content teachers to provide instructional support and modifications to the curriculum Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe, secure, and effective learning environment Participate in IEP meetings and complete required components of case study evaluations Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress toward achieving IEP goals Work effectively with our Para-Professional and Behavioral Health Specialist to ensure comprehensive support for students Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: Hold a valid LBS1 license or equivalent certification Possess a strong understanding of special education principles and practices Be willing to become certified in First Aid, CPR, and CPI Be physically capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds Hold a valid driver's license and be approved by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services to transport children Meet the requirements to become insured by Arrowhead's insurance carrier Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience working with students with diverse needs, including ASD Knowledge of functional curriculum and educational software Excellent classroom management and organizational skills A commitment to valuing diversity and incorporating cultural differences into educational planning Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you'll need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment Compassion, empathy, and patience when working with students with diverse needs Ability to maintain accurate records and track student progress Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Arrowhead Ranch Inc., we're committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our staff.
