Familiarize yourself with the Sharks Ice curriculum and the Ice Skating Institute (ISI) program, including all maneuvers taught at each level. Plan and deliver engaging and structured classes, deciding which maneuvers to teach and review, and ensuring that all students receive equal instruction and attention. Demonstrate punctuality and reliability, arriving on time for assigned classes and contributing to the setup of teaching aids and materials. Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, ensuring that classes are fun, friendly, and organized, and that students remain active and engaged throughout. Supervise practice sessions, incorporating games and music to promote social skills and a love for ice skating. Communicate effectively with parents, discussing student progress, and keeping them informed about skating competitions, activities, and test sessions. Assist with administrative tasks, including payroll, class certificates, progress reports, and promoting the Pro Shop and ISI testing. Maintain knowledge of the latest skating rules, trends, and emergency procedures, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you should possess a record of high achievement as an ice skater or coach in figure skating, hockey, speed skating, or dance. You should be able to work effectively with individuals of all ages, including youth and adults, and demonstrate positive relationships with customers. A good working knowledge of Ice Skating Institute programs and other skating clubs and organizations is also essential.
