Job Overview In this role, you will be responsible for entering information into our database from paper documents, utilizing your computer literacy and fast typing skills to achieve high levels of productivity. As a key member of our data team, you will report to a data manager or other senior member of the team, working collaboratively to ensure the efficient and accurate transfer of data. With a strong focus on data confidentiality principles, you will be expected to maintain the highest levels of discretion and adherence to our organization's data protection policies. Key Responsibilities Transfer data from paper formats to computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Enter data provided directly by clients, maintaining a high level of customer service and communication. Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without errors, utilizing your knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet tools (MS Office, Word, Excel, etc.). Verify data against source documents, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our database systems. Update existing data, performing periodic reviews and updates to maintain the relevance and effectiveness of our information management systems. Retrieve data from databases or electronic files as requested, providing timely and efficient support to our data management team. Perform periodic backups to ensure data preservation, maintaining the security and integrity of our database systems. Sort and organize documentation after data entry, ensuring that all information is accurately filed and easily accessible. Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will possess a combination of technical, administrative, and interpersonal skills, including: Proven experience as a data entry clerk, with a strong track record of accuracy and productivity. Fast typing skills, with a knowledge of touch typing systems strongly preferred. Excellent knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet tools (MS Office, Word, Excel, etc.), with the ability to create complex spreadsheets and reports. Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices, with the ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues. Basic knowledge of databases, with an understanding of data structures and information management principles. Good command of English, both oral and written, with strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of your work. High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant training or certification in data entry, administration, or a related field.
