**Job Summary**

As a Part Time Customer Service/Lot Attendant, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and assisting customers with U-Haul products and services. This role requires a strong skillset in customer service, communication, and problem-solving, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Provide exceptional customer service to customers inside and outside a U-Haul center, addressing their queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
* Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
* Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers, ensuring safe and secure transportation.
* Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels and performing routine maintenance tasks.
* Answer questions and educate customers regarding products and services, promoting U-Haul's offerings and benefits.
* Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
* Install hitches and trailer wiring, demonstrating expertise and attention to detail.
* Fill propane (certification offered through U-Haul upon employment) and drive a forklift (certification offered through U-Haul upon employment), showcasing versatility and adaptability.
* Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

**Minimum Qualifications**

* Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
* Availability to work part-time/weekends and holidays, with flexibility to adapt to changing schedules.
* Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in using U-Scan technology.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction and service excellence.

**Work Environment**

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts, requiring special safety precautions, such as working around moving parts or machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. You may be required to use protective clothing or gear, such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields. The physical demands of the job include long periods of remaining stationary, moving around indoors and outdoors, positioning yourself to reach objects at varying heights, and moving equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
