As an Online Crisis Chat Text Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the overall functioning of this program, providing supervision and support to our team of Crisis Chat Counselors, and helping to deliver high-quality services to our clients.

Job Overview
The Online Crisis Chat Text Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the 988 Crisis Chat Program, including individual supervision of Crisis Chat Counselors, monitoring of crisis chats, and ensuring that all clients receive the support and resources they need. This is a hybrid role, with the first four to six months requiring a combination of remote and on-site work, and a high emphasis on quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

Provides supervision and support to Crisis Chat Counselors, including monitoring of crisis chats and ensuring that all clients receive high-quality services
Conducts risk assessments, safety planning, and de-escalation techniques to ensure the well-being of clients
Builds positive relationships with clients, providing emotional support and connecting them with resources and services as needed
Ensures that all crisis chats are thoroughly documented and that Counselors are meeting productivity and quality standards
Provides training and coaching to new Crisis Chat Counselors, and conducts weekly individual supervision sessions with Counselors
Completes weekly quality assurance reports, performance evaluations, and yearly reviews
Meets with the Assistant Director of Crisis Services to discuss program operations, concerns, and potential improvements


Essential Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree in any Counseling field or Social Work preferred
1 year of experience in mental health services, preferably in crisis intervention services, suicide prevention, and intervention
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to function successfully in an environment requiring immediate response to urgent situations
Knowledge of and familiarity with local and statewide community resources, with analytical and problem-solving skills
Computer skills with various software, including Microsoft Products, and proficiency in using technology to support crisis intervention services


Preferred Qualifications

Experience in supervising staff in a crisis intervention or mental health setting
Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, including risk assessment, safety planning, and de-escalation
Familiarity with quality assurance processes and procedures, with experience in conducting quality assurance reports and evaluations
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team of Crisis Chat Counselors
