**Job Summary**

As an Ocean Product Development Specialist at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in executing strategies that support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of our ocean product. You'll work closely with our MD of Ocean, carrier development teams, and other stakeholders to analyze carrier service, routings, carrier performance, and support carrier service issues. Your expertise will be essential in implementing pricing programs, reviewing volume targets, and developing an ocean strategy that enhances the effectiveness of sales to achieve expectations of account development and yield enhancement.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Execute strategies that support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of the ocean product
* Work closely with the MD of Ocean to analyze carrier service, routings, carrier performance, and support carrier service issues
* Implement and communicate strategies to increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, enhance service, and support adherence to the preferred network
* Assist in implementing pricing programs, reviewing volume targets, and developing an ocean strategy that enhances the effectiveness of sales to achieve expectations of account development and yield enhancement
* Communicate both internally and externally to outline strategy, market conditions, and work closely with the MD, Ocean, along with the global trade lane team, sales, and operations to communicate direction and deliverables
* Direct and indirect customer contact will be required to promote the ocean product and support sales and operations as needed
* Work closely with product, sales, and operations to ensure compliance with policies and procedures to minimize company risk exposure and enhance service quality and achieve volume targets
* Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded
* Assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity; submit reports as required
* Work with the MD, Ocean, along with the regional ocean management team, to promote the ocean product
* Manage annual budget; control, monitor, and report results on a regular basis to achieve budget targets
* Work closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product

**Essential Qualifications**

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent
* At least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, analyzing ocean rates, and routing
* Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office apps
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
