**Job Summary**
We're looking for a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Medical Record/Data Entry Clerk/Project Support to join our Revenue Recovery Department. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with registered nurses, coding professionals, and billing specialists to ensure our clients receive the reimbursement they deserve. **Key Responsibilities**
As a Medical Record/Data Entry Clerk/Project Support, you'll be responsible for:
* Retrieving patient medical records from various hospital systems
* Generating and preparing patient itemized bills in appropriate formats for internal and external audits
* Extracting and entering necessary information from/to hospital patient accounting systems
* Making phone calls to post-acute healthcare facilities to obtain information needed on patients
* Running and creating reports
* Assisting with any other information gathering or data entry as needed by the recovery team
* Scanning and indexing of documents
**Essential Qualifications**
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
* 2+ years of experience in medical record/data entry or a related field
* Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and healthcare regulations
* Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with electronic health records (EHRs)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
**Preferred Qualifications**
While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset:
* Experience working in a healthcare revenue integrity or medical records department
* Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
* Familiarity with hospital patient accounting systems and EHRs
* Certification in medical records or a related field (e.g., RHIT, CCA)
* Experience with data analysis and reporting
