We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our team in the Emergency Care unit at Cornell University Hospital for Animals.

Key Responsibilities


Provide technical expertise for routine and complex emergency procedures, including RECOVER-based CPR and advanced resuscitation and stabilization of critical emergencies.
Collaborate with our team of board-certified emergency/critical care veterinarians and other specialists to ensure leading-edge patient care.
Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple cases simultaneously.
Participate in the instruction and mentorship of DVM students, contributing to their education and professional development.
Cross-train with other specialty services to enhance patient care and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine.
Contribute to the development and implementation of emergency care protocols and procedures.


Essential Qualifications


Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology.
Current licensure or eligibility to become licensed in New York State.
Strong technical skills and knowledge of veterinary emergency care procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, and clients.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a natural inclination towards leadership.
Interest in ongoing career growth and advanced skill development.


Preferred Qualifications


Previous experience in a veterinary emergency care setting.
Certification in veterinary emergency and critical care (VECC) or other relevant specialty.
Experience in mentoring or instructing students or junior staff members.
