Experienced Investigator / Case Manager / Director – Litigation, Business Intelligence & Adversarial Investigations

Remote Full-time
DCI Group is hiring an experienced investigator to join the litigation support, business intelligence, and adversarial investigation practice.

About the Role

We're looking for a savvy, innovative and experienced investigator who is a self-starter and motivated to join a growing team. You will work alongside researchers, lawyers and investigators who have decades of experience at global corporate intelligence and risk advisory firms and who deliver the highest quality work product. DCI utilizes cutting-edge tools and advanced resources relied on by top-tier investigation firms, and serves a wide range of clients, from solo and boutique law firms, small nonprofits and start-ups to AmLaw 100 firms, big tech and publicly traded companies.

DCI Group is based in California and its employees work remotely nationwide. The selected candidate may live anywhere in the United States, and must hold an active private investigator license if their state of residence is outside California.

Qualifications
• Min. 6 – 9+ years of experience at a corporate investigation firm, business intelligence firm or risk advisory consultancy, leading complex investigative research in connection with legal disputes and internal investigations.
• Deep experience conducting litigation support investigations that go beyond templated reports and rigid checklists—including asset tracing, locating hard-to-find witnesses, finding opponents’ past bad acts, and identifying the parties responsible for anonymous communications and suspicious activities.
• Excellent writing skills with demonstrated ability to prepare sophisticated written reports and synthesize detailed findings into concise executive summaries.
• Seasoned researcher of public records, including litigation, corporate and regulatory filings, and proprietary and subscription-based databases commonly used by global investigation firms.
• Proficiency with OSINT and SOCMINT tools for digital investigations.
• Comfortable using advanced tools to gather and synthesize large amounts of data into clear, concise results.
• Experience liaising directly with clients and managing junior investigators.
• Familiarity with conducting international investigations and collaborating with global contacts.

Additional Desirable Qualities
• Proficiency in interviewing witnesses in person and by telephone.
• Experience with managing surveillance investigations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop new business opportunities and network with potential clients.
• Fluency in additional languages.

Salary and Benefits
• Competitive salary commensurate with experience; DCI will match salaries provided by the large consultancy and investigation firms
• Discretionary bonuses paid twice per year
• Generous origination bonuses paid quarterly
• Very reasonable annual billable hour expectations
• Health benefits—medical, dental, and vision coverage
• Life and disability insurance
• 401(k) with employer match
• Fully remote position with office stipend or paid co-working space
