Key Responsibilities

Perform medical collections and respond to telephone inquiries (inbound/outbound) utilizing standard procedures and scripts
Gather information, perform research, and resolve customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Communicate appropriate options for resolution and inform customers/patients about services available, assessing their needs and providing personalized support
Schedule work to ensure accurate phone coverage, prioritize calls, and escalate issues as required
Assist in planning and implementing department goals, making recommendations to management to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people, including interdepartmental leadership, patient hospital staff, government, insurance company representatives, vendors, compliance, finance, and decision support teams


Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

High school diploma or college degree from an accredited college or university
Spanish fluency is preferable, but not required
Two to five years of industry experience in medical revenue cycle management is required, with medical experience or classroom knowledge a significant plus
Proven understanding of the medical revenue cycle and demonstrated excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations, with attention to detail and a good attendance record
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with demonstrated PC proficiency in MS Office Suite Applications


Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the essential qualifications, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:

Previous experience in a customer-facing role, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service
Knowledge of medical terminology and coding principles
Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management systems
Certification in medical billing and coding, or a related field
