Job Overview
As a Customer Engineer at Google, you will be part of a dynamic team that drives the adoption of Google Cloud solutions among clients. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with the sales team to identify and qualify business opportunities, address technical concerns, and develop strategies to overcome technical barriers. You will also collaborate with clients to demonstrate and model Google Cloud product integrations, providing proof-of-concept work and coordinating additional technical resources as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Work with the sales team to identify and qualify business opportunities, identify client technical complaints, and develop a strategy to resolve technical blockers
Manage the technical relationship with Google clients, including product briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of additional technical resources
Collaborate with clients to demonstrate and model Google Cloud product integrations in client or partner environments
Recommend migration strategies, enterprise models, migration tools, and cloud infrastructure to implement a comprehensive solution using Google Cloud
Attend client sites, meetings, and other related events as required
Test and inspire clients and partners to solve problems with solutions using a set of technical capabilities


Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and internal stakeholders. The minimum qualifications for this role include:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
At least 4 years of experience as a technical sales engineer in a cloud computing environment or a customer-facing role
Experience with traditional data center models and components (e.g., servers, storage, backup, networking, and virtualization technology)


Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the minimum qualifications, we prefer candidates with experience in the following areas:

Deployment strategies and technologies (e.g., Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD), Chef, Puppet, Ansible)
Operating systems, Linux system administration, or Enterprise applications
Public cloud platforms, infrastructure, storage, or platforms
Security matters (e.g., authentication protocols, identity and access management systems, encryption, securing cloud architectures, network, and endpoint security)
Networking areas (e.g., Linux, software-defined networking, virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration and load balancing, DNS, virtual private networks, and their application to PaaS and IaaS technologies)


Skills and Competencies
To excel in this role, you should possess a combination of technical, business, and interpersonal skills, including:

Strong technical knowledge of cloud computing, networking, and security
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with clients and internal stakeholders
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
